


Experimental Acrylic Painting / August 7 - August 28
WHEN: 4-class session / Thursday, August 7-28 from 10 AM - 12 PM
AGES: Adults, 18+
DESCRIPTION: With guidance from Diana Stezalski, students will push their acrylic painting skills in new ways and learn to take greater artistic risks as they explore experimental methods of working with acrylic paints. Each class will present a new exercise that highlights different additive materials and exploratory techniques, allowing students to rethink the texture, thickness, and application of their paint.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner+ with previous painting experience
LOCATION: Upstairs classroom

SUPPLIES: Students are expected to bring the following supplies:
Liquitex Acrylic Paint Tubes: Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Burnt Umber, Ivory Black, Titanium White (Other Option: Blick Artists' Acrylic Set or Liquitex Professional Heavy Body Set)
Brushes: Bright, size 8. Round, size 2. Round, size 4. Round, size 8. Filbert, size 4. (Other Option: Synthetic acrylic brush set with variety of sizes)
Palette: disposable paper palette sheets or a plastic plate
Palette knife
Jars/cups for water
Painting smock or old shirt

CAC REFUND POLICY: No full refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. After the start of, or the day of, the educational program, no refunds or credits will be given. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
