WHEN: 4-class session / November 9-30, from 2:30- 4 pm
DESCRIPTION: Artist Jen Aitchison will guide participants as they explore composition and linework through the process of relief printing. Over the first three sessions, participants will design and carve one linocut block, experimenting with line, shape, and texture to create an original image. The final session will focus on inking the block and printing a small batch of prints to take home.
The class will introduce the fundamentals of composition and the unique qualities of relief printing, creating plenty of opportunities to learn, experiment, and connect with fellow ArtsConnect participants in a welcoming studio environment.
ArtsConnect is a program designed especially for adults 60 and older. Through weekly classes, participants explore a variety of mediums that change from month to month, while continuing to build and strengthen foundational art skills over time. Classes have included everything from drawing and printmaking to watercolor and more.
