WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesday, Sept 9-23 OR Thursday, Sept 10-24 from 3:30- 5 PM
DESCRIPTION: Join artist Jen Aitchison as young artists explore life on the farm through painting! Students will discover how artists can paint a single apple up close or an entire orchard stretching across the landscape. Inspired by the colorful still lifes of Paul Cézanne and the rolling countryside of Grant Wood, they'll create bright paintings of apples, orchards, tractors, barns, and farm fields.
Students will practice looking closely at the world around them, mix and experiment with color, and explore different painting techniques. Through fun, creative projects, they'll build artistic skills while discovering how everyday places and objects can inspire great works of art.
After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-16. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!
