WHEN: 3-class session / Wednesdays, November 4- 18 OR Thursdays, November 5-19, from 3:30-5 PM.
DESCRIPTION: Led by Artist and Instructor Jen Aitchison, students will dive into a colorful world of Mexican freshwater creatures! Inspired by the unique animals of Lake Xochimilco, young artists will learn drawing techniques, practice careful observation, and strengthen fine motor skills through painting and creative projects. Children will explore color, texture, and pattern while creating artwork inspired by axolotls, frogs, and other amazing lake animals. From sketchbook studies to finished projects, they’ll build confidence, develop their art skills, and celebrate the incredible designs found in nature
After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-18. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!
