WHEN: 1-day Workshop / Saturday, September 26, from 10 AM-4 PM, with one hour lunch.
AGES: Adults, 18+
DESCRIPTION: Take your watercolor paintings to the next level in this fun, day-long workshop with artist Kim Vander Vinne. This workshop is perfect for artists who want to move beyond flat washes and explore the possibilities of watercolor, creating rich, dynamic texture and interesting surface effects.
Students will experiment with a variety of techniques using everyday materials such as salt, rubbing alcohol, plastic wrap, and more to create unique patterns, backgrounds, and visual interest. Kim will demonstrate how and when to use each technique, helping participants discover how texture can add depth, movement, and personality to their work.
With plenty of time for exploration, practice, and individual guidance, this workshop encourages creativity and playful discovery. Students will put new skills into practice by creating a finished painting that incorporates the favored textured effects.
