WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesdays, April 15- May 6, 6-8 PM
AGES: Adults, 18+
DESCRIPTION: Join artist Kim Vander Vinne for a workshop devoted to capturing our most beloved furry friends through watercolor! Students will learn how to capture both the likeness and personality of their subject by simplifying forms, refining key features, and working within a thoughtful, limited color palette. Emphasis will be placed on observing expression, gesture, and subtle character traits that make each animal unique. Participants will also explore the differences between hot press and cold press paper, gaining insight into how each surface influences texture, edge quality, and the handling of fur and expressive details. Reference photos will be provided, or students are welcome to bring their own images of the pet they wish to paint.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate and above
LOCATION: Downstairs Classroom, enter through the South Door next to mural

SUPPLIES: Students must bring the following watercolor colors in their preferred brand:
Alizarin Crimson
Cadmium Orange
Cobalt Blue
Yellow Ochre
Basic brushes will be available, but students are encouraged to bring their own if they have them.
All other supplies will be provided by CAC.
