Intro to Acrylics / May 6-27

WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesdays, May 6-27 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: With guidance from Diana Stezalski, students will explore the versatile medium of acrylic paint. Acrylics serves as a safe, flexible water-based media that allows for a wide color spectrum, quick dry time, and playful techniques. Color mixing, value, composition, perspective, and texture will be addressed through a series of weekly painting exercises as students experiment with mediums, brush types, and supports suitable for acrylics. Techniques will then be applied to a sustained painting project that focuses on a 2D source reference (personal photography or copy of a painting) as students begin to gain confidence working in the style/subject of their choice.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner + advanced beginner

CAC CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. No credits will be given the day class is to start or after the start of the educational program. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
