Intro to Drawing with Charcoal/ October 7- 28

WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesdays, October 7-28 from 10:30 am-12:30 pm

AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: With guidance from Diana Stezalski, students will explore the expressive possibilities of charcoal through a range of drawing exercises and projects. Working from observation and artistic references, students will learn how to use charcoal to create line, tone, texture, contrast, and depth. Lessons will introduce techniques for building and blending values, creating highlights and shadows, and using both precise and expressive marks. Students will also explore perspective and composition while studying the work of other artists for inspiration. Whether new to charcoal or looking to strengthen their drawing skills, students will develop confidence and discover the versatility of this dynamic medium.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner + above / All skill levels are welcome

LOCATION: Vinay and Suman Das Foundation 2d Studio, across the street at 116.

CAC REFUND POLICY: No full refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. After the start of, or the day of, the educational program, no refunds or credits will be given. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
