AGES: Adults, 18+
DESCRIPTION: Spend the morning discovering the endless possibilities of encaustic painting in this beginner-friendly workshop with artist Kenn Rudolph. Perfect for curious newcomers and experienced artists alike, this class offers a fun and exploratory introduction to painting with heated beeswax and resin to create luminous surfaces rich with color, depth, and texture.
Students will begin by building up layers of wax to create a smooth, dimensional surface before learning how to transfer photographic images onto their work. Experiment with layering, texture, and imagery to create unique pieces. Students may use their own personal photographs to use or choose from provided images. No previous experience with encaustic wax is necessary.
SKILL LEVEL: All skill levels are welcome
LOCATION: Vinay and Suman Das Foundation 2d Studio, across the street at 116.
