AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: We’ve all been there—standing in front of a landscape thinking, Where do I even start? This 1-day workshop is designed to help you cut through the overwhelm and learn how to simplify what you see in nature, enabling you to create stronger, more confident paintings.

Instructor Mark Vander Vinne will show you how to use landscape photos and masterworks for reference, to break down how to choose a compelling scene, spot the big shapes and masses, establish a clear focal point, and simplify color and value for maximum impact. You’ll leave with tools to help you turn complex scenes into clear, expressive paintings.
