


Ceramic Forms and Flowers: Exploring the Art of Ikebana for Kids/ June 21
WHEN: 1-day workshop / April 19 from 12 - 1:30 PM
AGES: 11-18
DESCRIPTION: Curious about the ancient arts of Japan? Join instructor Sharon Meyers in this workshop exploring the traditions of Japanese ceramics and Ikebana.
Participants will begin by creating a clay vessel using traditional hand-building techniques and utilizing the art of sgraffito and glazing. The ceramic pieces will be fired by CAC following the workshop. Next, students will learn the principles of ikebana floral arrangement and gain an understanding of this tradition as part of a calming meditative practice.
Each student will take home a completed ikebana arrangement within a vessel of their choice created by the instructor and share matcha milkshakes to close the session.

CAC CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. No credits will be given the day class is to start or after the start of the educational program. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
