DESCRIPTION: Artist and Instructor Jen Aitchison will lead young creators this fun class exploring both the work of Vincent Van Gogh and Dinosaurs! By observing Van Gogh’s paintings, Students will notice how he uses movement, texture, and color, and then apply these ideas as they create their own prehistoric beasts. Children will explore expressive mark making, swirling lines, and imaginative color to bring energy and emotion into their paintings, while learning to use brushstrokes and color to express feeling and creativity. This class combines color theory, drawing, and painting with art history, encouraging confidence, experimentation, and joyful self-expression.
After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-16. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!

CAC REFUND POLICY: No full refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. After the start of, or the day of, the educational program, no refunds or credits will be given. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
