WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesdays, April 8-29 OR Thursdays, April 9-30, from 3:30-5 PM.
DESCRIPTION: With Artist and Instructor Jen Aitchison, young artists will celebrate Lake Michigan and the Indiana Dunes with bright, bold colors! Students will explore the Fauvist art movement, get inspired by artists like Henri Matisse and André Derain, and create their own expressive Lakeshore and Dune landscapes. Participants will also have to learn how to draw spring trees blossoming with buds, practicing trunks, branches, and tiny flowers before creating them in vibrant Fauvist colors. Kids will see our region in a whole new way while exploring unexpected color combinations.
After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-18. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!

CAC CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. No credits will be given the day class is to start or after the start of the educational program. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
