Summer Art Camp: Puppets! / June 29- July 2
WHEN: 4-day session, June 29- July 2, from 10 AM- 12:30 PM
INSTRUCTOR: Emily Casella
DESCRIPTION: Step into a world where your imagination takes center stage! In this four-day camp, campers will explore different types of puppets; from wiggly stick puppets inspired by Ashley Bryan, made from household materials to marionettes with paper-mâché heads and stringed arms and legs that can dance, wave, and act out stories. While building their puppets, campers will explore movement, design, and how to give their characters personality—skills that are also the first step toward animation. They’ll invent short poems or silly songs to bring their puppets to life. By the end of camp, each camper will take home puppets bursting with personality and a new understanding of how to bring characters to life through creativity, movement, and storytelling.
CAC is offering an exciting series of youth + teen summer programming for ages 5-18 that highlight various art techniques and media, involve discussions about modern artists, and all follow a unique theme that encourages creativity and collaboration.
LOCATION: Downstairs classroom
TUITION: $120 for non-members / $108 for current CAC Family Members, enter code CACFAMMEMBER at checkout to receive 10%-member discount
Please note: Tuitions are non-transferrable; students must attend the week that they are registered.
