Teen Studio Intensive: Puppet Construction and Storytelling / June 29- July 2

$120.00

WHEN: 4-day session / June 29- July 2 from 1:30-4 PM

AGES: 13+

Instructor: Emily Casella

DESCRIPTION: In this four-day camp, teens will explore the art of puppet construction as a foundation for storytelling and animation. Students will create two types of puppets: movable stick puppets inspired by Ashley Bryan using recycled materials, and marionettes with beaded string arms and legs and paper-mâché heads. As they build, campers will focus on mechanics, movement, and design—skills that are essential for bringing characters to life on stage or in animation. Throughout the week, students will also develop short poems or stories for their puppets, performing them for their fellow artists and experimenting with how movement and narrative work together.

CAC is featuring a series of special studio intensives just for teens, ages 13+. Each intensive focuses on a specific media and is designed to challenge students to elevate their current art skills or explore an entirely new practice, becoming a stronger artist altogether.

LOCATION: Downstairs classroom

TUITION: $120 for non-members / $108 for current CAC Family Members, enter code CACFAMMEMBER at checkout to receive 10%-member discount

Please note: Tuitions are non-transferrable; students must attend the week that they are registered.

SUPPLIES: All supplies provided
