Summer Art Camp: Kinetic Creations: Mobile + Sculpture / June 22-26

$150.00

WHEN: 5-day session / June 22-26 from 12-2:30 PM

AGES: 9-12

INSTRUCTOR: Jen Aitchison

DESCRIPTION: Explore art that floats, twists and spins! Campers will start by creating a unique hanging mobile inspired the camper’s style and imagination. They will also design and build wild sculptures inspired by roller coasters and amusement rides, choosing colors, themes, and details to make each piece come alive. Every kinetic sculpture will tell a playful story through motion, with twists, loops, and dips bringing their imagined worlds and characters to reality. Inspired by artists like Alexander Calder, Ruth Asawa, and Theo Jansen, students will sketch, experiment, and turn their bold ideas into imaginative artworks that combine movement, design, and storytelling in surprising ways.

CAC is offering an exciting series of youth + teen summer programming for ages 5-18 that highlight various art techniques and media, involve discussions about modern artists, and all follow a unique theme that encourages creativity and collaboration.
