Illustrating Cubist Birds, for Teens/ May 7-28
WHEN: 4-class session / Thursdays, May 7-28, from 5:30-7 PM
DESCRIPTION: Artist and Instructor Jen Aitchison will lead an exploration of the world of birds through the lens of Cubism! Students will develop their skills in illustration, composition, color theory, and creative problem-solving while creating original mixed-media Cubist-inspired bird artwork. The curriculum includes an introduction to Cubist pioneers such as Picasso and Braque, as well as examples of modern Cubism, providing both historical context and contemporary inspiration.
After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-18. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!
