Food for Thought: Ages 8-12 / Sept 8-29

$90.00

WHEN: 4-class session / Tuesdays, September 8-29, from 5-6:30 PM

DESCRIPTION: Led by artist and instructor Jen Aitchison, the September session of After School Art invites young artists ages 9–12 to explore how food can become a powerful subject for artistic expression. Inspired by Paul Cézanne's groundbreaking still lifes and Wayne Thiebaud's bold, colorful paintings of desserts and everyday treats, students will examine how artists use color, composition, value, and perspective to transform ordinary objects into compelling works of art.

Using their favorite foods as inspiration, students will strengthen their observational drawing and painting skills while experimenting with color mixing, brushwork, and composition. Younf artists will develop their own artistic voice, creating expressive paintings that reflect their personalities, memories, and creative ideas.

After School Art classes are offered every month from September-May for ages 5-18. During each 4-class monthly session, students will explore an arts-related topic, movement, or technique through a variety of 2D media such as watercolor, pastel, graphite, acrylic, or printmaking. Because each monthly session offers a different theme and set of projects, families are welcome to register for one session, a few, or the whole year!

TUITION: $90 for non-members / $81 for current CAC Family Members, enter code CACFAMMEMBER at checkout to receive 10%-member discount
