Beginner's Oil Painting Workshop / Mar 28

WHEN: 1-day workshop / Saturday, March 28 from 10 AM-1 PM

AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: With guidance from artist Diana Stezalski, students will explore the feel and basic characteristics of oil paint. In this workshop, students will create an alla prima painting of a simple still-life subject. Alla prima is a painting technique where the artwork is completed in a single session, with wet paint applied over wet paint. Students will start with a simple monochromatic underpainting to map out shapes and values, then add color on top, learning how to mix and apply paint confidently while it is still wet.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner + above / All levels welcome

LOCATION: Upstairs classroom

CAC REFUND POLICY: No full refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. After the start of, or the day of, the educational program, no refunds or credits will be given. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
