Landscape Drawing / JUL 9-30

$125.00

WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesdays, July 9-30 from 4-6 PM

AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: With guidance from Diana Stezalski, this class will encourage students to bring their sketchbooks outside and develop their observational drawing skills with inspiration from beautiful Beverly Shores landscapes + beyond. The class will meet at the Beverly Shores train station to study nearby architecture, sketch at the overlook and marsh, and explore other local surroundings. Line, tone, perspective, composition, and technique will be addressed as students respond to what they see in their surroundings and work with a variety of drawing media including ink pens, charcoal, pastel, and graphite. Students must be comfortable walking to local locations and working outside, weather permitting.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner + above / All skill levels welcome

LOCATION: Outdoors, weather permitting (If rain is in the forecast, class will be held at Chesterton Art Center in the upstairs classroom & students will be notified 1 hours prior to class by text/email)

TUITION: $125 for non-members / $112.50 for current CAC members, enter code CACMEMBER at checkout to receive 10% member discount

SUPPLIES: Students are expected to bring the following supplies:

  • Vine charcoal (soft and medium)

  • Charcoal pencil

  • Drawing pencils

  • Sketchbook

  • Optional supplies: Black conte stick, bristle brush, Plumb line (simply a piece of string/fishline with a weight attached to it), small mirror, fixative, white chalk pencil

CAC REFUND POLICY: No full refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. After the start of, or the day of, the educational program, no refunds or credits will be given. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
