WHEN: 2-day workshop / November 15 + 22 from 10 am-12 pm
AGES: Adults, 18+
DESCRIPTION: On Day 1, explore the art of eco printing by layering botanical elements such as walnut, oak, maple, and sumac leaves with unexpected materials like vegetables and rusted washers. These natural and metallic elements will be carefully bundled and steamed, allowing their pigments, textures, and shapes to transfer onto paper. The prints will continue to develop and cure between sessions.
On Day 2, return to your finished prints and bring them to life with a variety of mixed media techniques. Through mark-making, painting, inking, and other enhancements, you’ll deepen the natural beauty of each piece. Then, assemble your final works into a set of beautifully crafted holiday cards.
By the end of the workshop, students can expect to create approximately 15 eco prints and complete 10 original cards.
