Coptic Bookbinding with Paste Paper Workshop / Sept 27 + Oct 4
WHEN: 2 day workshop / Saturday, September 27 & Saturday, October 4, 10AM-12 PM
AGES: Adults, 18+
DESCRIPTION: In this two-part workshop, instructor Kristin McMurtrey will guide students through making their own Coptic-bound notebook with a hand-designed paste paper cover. Students will begin by creating vibrant paste papers—a decorative process that allows for creative exploration through color and pattern, combining historical craft with modern expression.
Then, they'll learn the art of Coptic binding, a beautiful and durable stitching technique known for its exposed spine and ability to lay flat. By the end of the class, participants will leave with a unique handmade book and the skills to make more on their own.
SKILL LEVEL: All Levels welcome.

CAC CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. No credits will be given the day class is to start or after the start of the educational program. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
