Intro to Paper Making and Bookbinding / Feb 17- March 10

WHEN: 4-class session / Tuesdays, February 17- March 10, 5:30-7:30 PM

AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: Bookbinding is a centuries old artform that changed the course of history. Artist and instructor Lucas Cordes will guide students through an introduction in a variety of bookbinding techniques. Each class will focus on a different process; including the basics of paper making; binding a book using the basic 4 hole Japanese stab binding method (Yotsume Toji); creating the pages and cover for a basic accordion book and experimenting with forms of construction; and creating signatures and bind them using the coptic stitch.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner + above / All skill levels welcome

LOCATION: Upstairs classroom

TUITION: $135 for non-members / $121.50 for current CAC members, enter code CACMEMBER at checkout to receive 10%-member discount

CAC CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds are permitted for tuitions paid for educational programs. Participants may receive a 50% tuition credit that can be used for a future educational program at CAC. No credits will be given the day class is to start or after the start of the educational program. Should CAC cancel any educational program, all participants will receive a full refund.
