ArtsConnect: Creative Writing: Tell Me a Story / March 11 - April 7

$50.00

WHEN: 4-class session / Wednesdays, March 11- April 7, 1:30-3

DESCRIPTION: Artist, podcaster, and writer Suzy Vance will lead this creative writing class for students ages 60 and over. Participants will learn how to tell someone else’s story through thoughtful listening, interviewing, and writing. The class will focus on the art of the interview—how to ask meaningful questions, build trust, and gather stories from friends, family members, or community members—and then shape those conversations into engaging written narratives.

The course will also touch on the basics of audio storytelling. For those who are interested, Suzy will offer a gentle, hands-on introduction to podcast-style recording, showing how spoken stories can be captured and shared through voice. No prior technical experience is required, and participation in audio recording is optional.

The class includes time for discussion, questions, writing practice, and personalized guidance, all in a thoughtfully paced and supportive environment. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and grow their own unique work through listening, writing, and storytelling.
